About Calin

Calin, real name Calin Panfili, is a singer and rapper from Brno, originally from Moldova. He releases his music under the sublabel of Mike Roft records, Rychli kluci, which is associated with producer and sound engineer D.Kop.

Calin has been into music since childhood and started recording songs in high school, where he met David Kopecký, known as D.Kop. His first single was titled Víc už nic and was released in 2016 under the newly formed Mike Roft records label as one of the first tracks. Several singles were later released, such as Blíž and Paradise, which featured rapper Renne Dang.

In January 2017, Calin released the track Play Time, announcing his switch to the Slovak label Comebackgang. The playfulness of the single quickly gained the attention of the general public and the track also appeared in director Viktor Taus' TV series, Zrádci (2020). During 2018, apart from music, Calin has been focusing on training and MMA, so only a few singles were released, but they have seen significant success. These include Perfect Week and Děvče v první řadě in collaboration with Ben Cristovao.

In 2019, Calin returned to the label Rychlí kluci. He later released the track Růže with his label mate, rapper Stein27, and the song topped the music charts and hit the 20 million listens mark on Spotify. In 2020, Calin released 3 songs that form a cohesive series and their music videos are linked in plot. From the romantic and somewhat naive track Panama, the storyline spills over into the more aggressive track Serotonin, in which frustration, disappointment in people and being overwhelmed by the world around can be felt. The track Svědomí is then a melancholic mirror of Calin's life and state of mind. Calin's debut album was released in 2020 and is titled, Svědomí.

The album Popstar, which was released in March 2022, stayed almost continuously at the top of the album sales chart in the Czech Republic for fourteen weeks. It contains a total of 14 tracks and several of them managed to reach the top of the charts. For example, the single Hannah Montana, which has more than 35 million plays on Spotify, is one of his most listened to tracks on the streaming platform, and Praha/Vídeň has already surpassed the 30 million listen mark. Both tracks have been announced as the most listened to Czech songs of 2022 on Spotify. Mike Roft records have also come up with their own brand of drink, Popstar tea.

Calin joined forces with Victor Sheen and in 2023 their joint project, the album Roadtrip, was released. The album consists of 12 tracks, of which the most successful is Safír. The project has also earned a joint tour, and Calin and Victor Sheen even performed their show at the O2 Arena, and a live recording can be found on Spotify.

His latest release is the album Bieber Fever, which was released on May 30, 2024. Calin is going on an autumn tour of Czech and Slovak cities with this album and tickets are available at GoOut.
