George Clanton + support: Dasa
George Clanton will perform at ARCHA+ on August 1. Dasa will perform as a support.
The name George Clanton is synonymous with the cult genre of vaporwave, defined by the melancholic mood and nostalgia of the 1990s. His album 100% Electronica was one of the top 10 records of 2015 according to Texas blog Gorilla Vs Bear. Anthony Fantano of The Needle Drop described Clanton’s music as orgiastic. This summer, the multidisciplinary artist will also delight Prague audiences with his anticipated new release Ooh Rap I Ya as part of The Reunion Tour.
Dasa, a resonant name not only on the Slovak music scene, singer and producer, currently living in London. At ARCHA+ she will present her debut EP Come Through, which is the result of two years of work in London's Hermitage Works studio (in collaboration with producer Nathan Ridley and pianist Seth Evans – Black Midi). Dasa has also received support from Slovak Radio FM and was nominated in the Discovery of the Year category at the Radio_Head Awards. She brings to Prague not only her latest single Wife Now, released last year by London-based Practice Music, but also the work in progress of her second EP.
