Introduction to Hebrew

Getting acquainted with the Hebrew alphabet.

Modern Hebrew is not only one of the official languages of the State of Israel, but also a language spoken today by more than 9.5 million people worldwide. Participants will learn about the development of modern Hebrew, the possibilities, and challenges of studying this language from lecturer Mgr. Kristýna Zubčáková, who has been teaching Hebrew at the Jewish Community of Brno for over 10 years. They will get acquainted with the sounds of the Hebrew alphabet, find out what the so-called vocalized and non-vocalized Hebrew text looks like, and learn to read a few simple words and sentences.
