Jephte

Scenic performance of the oratorio Jephte by the Polish early music ensemble Capella Cracoviensis. This early Baroque work treats the Old Testament story of the Israelite warrior Jephthah, who recklessly promised the Lord to sacrifice to him what he would first see upon his return in return for victory in battle. The programme will be complemented by Filiberto Laurenzi's Serenata Guerra non porta.

The performance will take place as part of Polské dny (Polish Days) in Pilsen with the financial support of the City of Pilsen.
