About Kalkata Band
Kalkata Band is a Czech punk-rock'n'roll band. Some of their songs border on minimalism, others are close to dodecaphony as it is known from the creator of this genre Arnold Schönberg. The rhythm section uses polyrhythmic techniques. Harmonically, the group draws on contemporary jazz and classical music. Lyrically, many of the band's songs are reminiscent of the techniques of Eastern poetry – the minimalism of the music is reflected in the minimalism of the words.
