Norblin Factory Museum

The Norblin Factory Museum is an integral part of the Norblin Factory complex, which also encompasses a business centre, a mall and food and entertainment areas. This former industrial site was once one of the largest enterprises in the Kingdom of Poland, with a long, complex history that dates back to the 1840s. The Norblin, Buch Brothers and T. Werner Factory produced a wide range of metal, tin and silver-plated goods—sugar bowls, teapots, cutlery, vases, dishes and more—ranging from the utilitarian to true works of art.

The Factory Museum is an open space comprising 10 historical buildings, 50 machines and devices that have returned to their place after many years, as well as a collection of Norblin platters produced in the former Norblin, Buch Brothers and T. Werner factories. Visiting it is somewhat like an urban game. It requires the involvement of the visitors, who will find the exhibits and their dedicated descriptions on their own.

There are several logistical decisions to be made when preparing for a visit. The museum has four exploratory pathways: the "Buildings and Architecture" pathway, the "People" pathway, the "Machines and Devices" pathway and the "Products" pathway, each one focusing on a different aspect of the Factory's history. Each of them is available on three different levels: Family (dedicated to families with children), Tourist (for those who want to explore the history of the factory) and Expert (for enthusiasts who are interested in history and want to learn about the history of the area in detail). Finally, the Museum can be explored in three ways: with a mobile app (Tourist level only), with booklets or with guides. The guided tours prove especially interesting: the Museum offers both a traditional guided tour and an immersive tour with actors playing the roles of its former owners.
