Galerie Wedding – Raum für zeitgenössische Kunst

Galerie Wedding is a municipal gallery at Berlin Mitte.

It is situated at a part of the city that is formed by urbanism and the multicultural environment between Müllerstraße and Leopoldplatz in a historical expressionist building. the same as the building was part of a utopian model of society the gallery follows the aspiration of being a space for contemporary artistic means of expression and future oriented sociopolitical models.

Under the name POW - Post-Otherness-Wedding the team of curators Dr. Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung and Solvej Helweg Ovesen has presented actual works of artists mainly living at Berlin and connected them with anthropological, sociopolitical but also everyday questions during 2015 and 2016 at Galerie Wedding.In the years 2017 and 2018 the two curators again take over the artistic direction of the exhibition program of Galerie Wedding.

In four solo exhibitions per year questions of migration and its influence on our society as well as possibilities of spreading our privileges in Northern Europe differently are thematized. The exhibition series is accompanied by a program of performance and discourse.
