About DJ Haram

DJ Haram is a rap/electronic producer and DJ originally from New Jersey currently based in Brooklyn, NY.

Stylistically versatile, Haram is known equally for her bass and club music heavy DJ sets, detail oriented analogue sound design, electronic-folk Middle Eastern production, and rap collaborations. She makes up half of 700 Bliss, a hip-hop/noise project with Moor Mother – the two released the critically acclaimed Nothing to Declare on Hyperdub Records in 2022. Haram currently runs Monday Night Raw monthly at Brooklyn staple the Lot Radio, curating open format DJ b2bs and live rap and experimental performances. She previously held residence at Rinse FM London with Rage Radio spanning 5 years. Internationally, she has played on noteworthy stages like Dekmantel, Unsound, Roskilde, Le Guess Who?, Boiler Room, Berghain, Sonar, Tashweesh, Bonnaroo and has toured from Tokyo to Cairo.

Haram has released 3 solo EPs including Grace (Hyperdub, 2019) and the self-released Mixed Berries (2019) and Era (2021). In 2023, Haram released a number of collaborations and remixes, notably producing Armand Hammer’s returning single Trauma Mic featuring Pink Siifu, remixing Fever Ray Carbon Dioxide. and reciting a poem on Shook World, King Vision Ultra’s reinterpretation of Algiers’ Shook. Haram will be releasing her debut solo album in 2024.
