About DJ Premier
DJ Premier is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most distinguished figures in hip-hop history. Together with Guru, he co-created the cult line-up Gang Starr and had a huge impact on the sound of records by artists such as Nas, Jay Z, Snoop Dogg, Mos Def or The Notorious B.I.G. His characteristic style, consisting of perfectly harmonised loops, scratches and samples from jazz, soul and funk recirds, has been identified with the Brooklyn sound for years and reflects its atmosphere more than any other. His biggest commercial success came with his collaboration with Christina Aguilera for the album Back To Basics, on which he produced several tracks, including the hit Ain't No Other Man.
