Joan of Arc, or the Virgin of Orleans, has been a symbol of unbreakability and faith in God and herself since the 15th century. Joan of Arc fights for freedom, otherness and the right to be oneself. She is the voice of LGBTQI+ people. He is the voice of today.
The story of the warrior woman who led the French army during the Hundred Years War against England, and the martyr who was burned as a heretic in 1431 and beatified in 1920, has been worked on and interpreted by countless artists. The world premiere of Charlie Josephine’s I, Joan was staged in 2022 at Shakespeare's Globe in London and was hailed as one of the most controversial works of the year. The Comedy Theatre's production based on this text was prepared by a Czech-Slovak creative team. It was created in collaboration with the queer platform Pinkbus.
