The Kaleidoscope exhibition at Galerie Sara Lily Perez offers a journey through the rich tapestry of global cultures, bringing to life their heritage, visions, and stories. This vibrant celebration showcases the diverse backgrounds, traditions, and narratives that shape our world, highlighting the unique yet interconnected cultural mosaics. Visitors are invited to explore aspirational horizons through art that captures the essence of hope, progress, and a vision for an inclusive future. The exhibition deepens its impact by delving into personal exploration within a cultural context, presenting figurative sculptures and visual art that interrogate themes of identity and gender. Adding to the immersive experience, the exhibition features interactive elements that allow for a tactile and emotional connection with the art. Here, wearable art objects invite physical engagement, while the figurative representations encourage storytelling, evoking profound human emotions such as connection, compassion, and solidarity. This exhibition is not just a viewing experience; it's an invitation to engage, reflect, and connect with the depth of human experience across cultures.

About the Artists:

Manuela Sambo: Manuela is known for her figurative paintings and sculptures. Her journey as an artist began when she moved from Angola to the former German Democratic Republic in 1984. This relocation marked a pivotal point in her life, where she developed a keen interest in visual arts and a heightened awareness of her African heritage. Sambo's art is deeply influenced by her experiences and cultural background, exploring themes such as female sexuality and identity. This thematic focus is a reflection of her personal explorations and the cultural contexts of her native Angola and her adopted home in Germany.

Dijana Sulic: Dijana is an artist and the founder of the brand Déesse by DS, known for creating "wearable art objects", using ancient, tribal, and historic beads. Her work focuses on using African trade beads and old semi-precious stones, which were once used as currency on the African continent from the 15th to the early 20th century. Each piece crafted by Sulic is not just a fashion accessory but a unique object of collection, symbolizing a journey through time and space, with its own stories, secrets, and mysteries. Dijana Sulic's work is celebrated for its exclusive and bold nature, each piece being a symbol of cultural identity and history.

Cyril France: Cyril is a figurative mannerist painter living and working in Kent, UK, and originally from Accra, Ghana. France has gained recognition for his unique and evocative works that reflect a deep understanding of form, colour, and composition. Cyril's artistic endeavours unfold as a captivating journey of self-exploration, resilience, and faith, navigating the challenges of hope against the odds. His photo-realistic paintings focus on portraits of young people, reflecting a community's limited resources and lifestyle, showing their bravery, dreams, and hope for a brighter future and freedom. France expresses his compassion towards his people through works such as Lambs Become Lions and To Dream Is to Hope.

Chiderah Bosah: Chiderah is a self-taught contemporary visual artist born in Nigeria. His artistic journey began at a young age as he replicated comic books using pencil drawings. Raised in Port Harcourt, Bosah's work focuses on storytelling through visual cues, including sketching, photography, drawing, and painting. He predominantly explores oil on canvas as a medium, with his artistic practice spanning across figurative representation, simplified realism, and portraiture. Bosah's art is known for investigating internal dialogues with the inner self through contemporary portraits that examine the human spirit, delving into how humanity is revealed externally through powerful and captivating expressions.
