Venue description

The Kuppelhalle, designed by architect Werner March (1894-1976), was completed in 1936. It is one of the architectural highlights in the building ensemble of the listed Sports Forum.

As part of the 1936 Olympic construction program, the Kuppelhalle was integrated into the House of German Sports. Originally, it was intended to serve for propagandistic cultural events of the National Socialists, whereby, in contrast to the zeitgeist of National Socialist architecture, it was distinguished from the latter by expressionist features.

Today, the hall is mostly used by the Federal Base of Rhythmic Gymnastics and for recurring fencing events.

There is room for 1100 spectators.
