Members’ Hours: Read & Notes on Us

Read is a project by the artistic duo Elmgreen & Dragset, reflecting on the relationship between books and artistic creation. The exhibition environment, reminiscent of a library, questions the relationship to physical books and knowledge in the digital age. Read presents sculptures, performances, and new works by Elmgreen & Dragset alongside pieces by other artists, mostly from the Kunsthalle Praha collection. The exhibition Notes on Us introduces visitors to the American artist John Sanborn, who is among the most significant figures of experimental video art of the 1970s and 1980s. Later, this audiovisual creator played a role in the flourishing of MTV's music video aesthetics and the expansion of the contemporary phenomenon of digital art in Hollywood. The exhibition will uncover the story of the work V+M(2015) and will also focus on the context of works with themes of gender identity.

Kunsthalle Praha members have the opportunity to visit exhibition Read & Notes on Us during a special members’ hours taking place on Sunday, 21 April from 10 AM to 11 AM.
