A unique happening full of sounds and music, prepared especially for the Faculty of Humanities by the Berg Orchestra.

Let yourself be drawn into the soundscape, then set the rhythm and play alongside a world-famous ensemble for an evening.

Soundwalk (meet at 18:00 at the reception) – On the soundwalk, the main goal is to listen to the sounds of the surroundings. In today's relatively noisy urban landscape, people have learned not to listen. In addition, the world places a great deal of emphasis on visual stimuli, so that sound stimuli are often neglected. A sound walk will help to “open your ears and discover a new world”. It is possible to listen intensively anywhere – at home, in a shop, on the street, at the station or in the forest…

Are you looking for an original experience? Join the orchestra! – Participants will have the opportunity to become part of the orchestra for one evening. The Berg Orchestra is looking for volunteers to get acquainted with the metronome and join in the great work.

How to get involved – It is necessary to reserve a ticket in the category “I will volunteer for the concert / concert and sound walk” until 22 April and then just show up for the rehearsal on Tuesday, 23 April.

Rehearsal (in room 0.03):

  • 17:40–17:55 for participants of the soundwalk
  • 18:30–18:45 for those who are not going to the soundwalk

Poème symphonique or happening for 100 metronomes (from 19:00) – The famous composition for 100 metronomes by composer, experimenter and musical inventor György Ligeti is a testament to his brief encounter with the Fluxus movement. Each performance is original and leaves a deep impression on the listener. The premiere in 1963 caused a small scandal, and Dutch television eventually broadcast a football match rather than record the event.
