Sculpture Studio Open to the Public

Sale ended

The studio of artist couple Janoušek couple, which later served as Věra’s permanent home, is located in Prague’s Košíře in U Kotlářky Street at the foot of the Skalka natural monument. The artists built the house on the site of a potato field during the First Republic in the early 1960s with their own help. The plans were drawn up according to Janoušek’s design by architect Josef Hrubý, one of the authors of the Czechoslovak pavilion at Expo 58 in Brussels. The studio now houses a permanent exhibition of sculptural works by Vladimír and Věra Janoušková, whose monumental sculptural realizations are installed in the garden of the house.

Every first Saturday it opens to the public. Even though it looks remote, it is easily accessible by tram (station Kotlářka).
