"From the earth everything comes into being and everything eventually turns to the earth" is the maxim of the ancient Greek philosopher of the pre-Socratic period Xenophanes. A thought coined at the dawn of our culture seems close to Stanislaw Brach, who uses excavated treasures from the earth in his work. For centuries, we have used clay to make bricks, sand to make glass and azurite as the basis for the pigment used by painters imbuing their works with extraordinary colour. The same is true of Brach's work - here everything is created from the earth. In the artist's work, which relates to land art, we see an extraordinary ecological sensitivity. Brach's use of nature's creations is linked to the need to be outside the city, in a place where sculptures, ceramics and installations are created from bee apiaries. The exhibition Po_kłosie is another expression of the artist's passion and love for nature. To paraphrase Xenophanes: everything that is art for Brach is created from an ear.
