Venue description

The Viola Theater is a Czech theater focused on chamber performances inspired by literary texts. The theater is located in the yard of a former insurer at Národní třída in Prague, an Art Nouveau building designed in 1906 by architect Osvald Polívka. The capacity of the hall is 76 seats.

Viola is an important place in Prague's cultural life, where non-conformist personalities have met. Originally, the poetic wine cellar Viola originated as an island of creative freedom, especially for young creators and audiences. Viola's intention is to help develop artistically demanding shows and performances. The dramaturgical footage ranges from scenic reading to chamber dramas to cabarets.
