Symphony / Ondřej Nedvěd, Vojtěch Komárek / 9 min / original language: CZ / subtitles: EN – Little Martin would like to run outside with the other children, but he is afraid of being made fun of because of his visual impairment. So he spends most of his time alone at home with his magical character Francis, who helps him discover the world. One day, a ball falls over the fence of Martin's house. The boy is afraid to return it to the children on the street…
When I Grow Up / Ester Kasalová / 4 min / původní znění: CZ / subtitles: EN – The author and her crew go on a field trip to a kindergarten to ask the children what they would like to do when they grow up. The children have very clear ideas about their future, which the director visualises with the ease and artistic shorthand typical of children's drawings.
The Kite / Martin Smatana / 13 min / original language: no dialogue / subtitles: CZ – Slovak director Martin Smatana's graduate film tells a poetic story of a young boy coping with the death of his grandfather, using symbols and subtle metaphors. The visually atypical and animation-heavy film is aimed primarily at a child audience, showing them in a non-violent way that although all creatures must go at some point, there is a way to be with them in the future.
