FAMUFEST is a multi-genre film festival organized annually by students of the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. It allows the audience outside the FAMU environment to see the latest works of the students. One of the long-term goals of the festival is to introduce the cultural public to new talents who will co-create the future of Czech cinema, television, photography and other media.
The theme of the fortieth edition of FAMUFEST are "Networks". Through them, attention is extended from the artist to the viewer and in other directions. The choice of this year's theme is based on the neural networks in the human brain that respond to all stimuli, including art. The festival will thus focus on the sensory, thought and above all emotional states of humans.
FAMUFEST celebrates its 40th anniversary, to which a part of the programme is dedicated. Visitors can visit the annual exhibition in the Holešovice Shaft, listen to a debate on the history of FAMUFEST or watch a selection of archive films by FAMU graduates.
